Our three core services are entrenched within the following aspects of our business:

Engineering Consulting Services

Our engineers can assist with the design and implementation of a utility management system from the start of any project, as well as the conversion of any current installation.  The following services form part of our offering to clients that is both applicable to current and new projects:

  • Consultation on most suitable vending and billing solution for a project (Prepaid, Post Paid, One Account Services (EWallet), etc.);
  • Local Authority bulk supply analysis and recommendations on the most suitable supply for a project’s specific requirements;
  • System layout design;
  • Full analysis and cost projection;
  • Revenue projection;
  • Installations and inspections – not only of metering equipment, but electrical installations in general;  and
  • Analysis of any current installation and recommendations on bulk supply connections and tariffs, as well as Local Supply Authority account readings and reconciliation.

Prepaid Metering and Vending Services

We source and supply the required STS approved metering equipment and provide installation services or support for installations.  The meters are already loaded on the vending system with our unique Supply Group Code.  The vending system is hosted nationwide and is fully STS compliant and adheres to all required NERSA regulations.

Smart Metering (AMR Solutions)

We are able to advise on and supply the latest in “smart” metering systems, from normal AMR (Automated Meter Reading) installations to multi-utility (Electricity, Water, Gas) ONE ACCOUNT (E-wallet) full smart metering installations.

Tariffs, Costs and Fees

Prepay Metering only applies Local Authority (Municipal or Eskom) tariffs as approved by NERSA.  Administration and Merchant Fees are never added to or loaded on a tariff.  We believe in a transparent approach where the end consumer will be treated fairly and in line with NERSA regulations.  A Management or Service Fee structure is negotiated with the Developer, Body Corporate or Homeowners Association depending on the type of services required.

Hosting, Administration and Support of Vending Services

When a vending system is implemented it is important to take into account the following main attributes that we place at the core of our service offering:

  1. Convenience – The owner, resident and/or tenant must be able to purchase his/her utilities at the most convenient time and in the most convenient manner to him/her.  They must be able to purchase with cash, EFT, credit card and through all channels which include POS, mobile, internet and online banking platforms.
  2. Support – The owner, resident and/or tenant must at all times be re-assured of real-time support in case they experience difficulty.  The end-consumer must also be supplied with all the necessary tools and information to ensure they are equipped to make the best possible decisions regarding their electricity consumption.  Support must not be limited to only office hours.
  3. Responsibilities – The Body Corporate must at all times be aware of the responsibilities of the Vending Provider and the level of service that can be expected from the Provider in order to address any challenges that may arise.
  4. Accountability – A Service Level Agreement should be undertaken to ensure both parties are held accountable and eliminates any uncertainty with regards to services rendered – therefore no empty promises and no hidden costs.  The Body Corporate must be informed of all relevant regulations and assured of compliance thereof.
  5. Sustainability – Timeous fund transfers, feedback, sales analysis and after sales support including proactive maintenance enables the Body Corporate to sustain their level of service to the respective owners.
  6. Expertise –  With over 40 years of experience in electrical engineering consulting services, our engineers have the necessary expertise to guide you in all aspects of metering and electricity management.

Value added services and solutions

We believe in working together with our clients to find better solutions for all aspects of utility management and improving our service offering to our clients through innovation.  We are actively looking for ways to save costs associated with our services to ensure a better fee structure to our clients.

We are aware that technology is continuously changing and we therefore need to adapt to all these changes.
